Te Whare-iti (‘small house’) has come a long way (and grown in size) since being a winner in the 2018 PrefabNZ (now OffsiteNZ) SNUG home competition.

Our Te Whare-iti modular house programme is the confluence of 50 years of architectural and building skills within the Wright family company, Wright Industrial Ltd. We manufacture and build offsite-manufactured family homes that can be as small as a studio, or as large as a three-or-more bedroom home.

Richard Wright, director of Wright Industrial and registered architect, designed the original Te Whare-iti applying the innovative method of using cross-laminated timber (CLT) for the structural elements. His practice, Aonui Architecture, provides Wright Industrial with design and project management support.

Alex Wright, licensed building practitioner, leads the offsite assembly team at our Porirua production line and brings 15 years of bespoke quality building skills to the programme.

Greg Buchanan, production coordinator, oils the wheels of Te Whare-iti construction to ensure we exceed our customers’ expectations.

Judith Wright, director of Wright Industrial, looks after the finances and applies her editing skills to the website.

We are all passionate about providing high-spec, sustainable homes, using a suite of standardised modules that minimises construction time and cost.
